Pharmavite hosts state AG for tour of Alabama facility

Alabama state Attorney General Luther Strange and his communications director Mike Lewis visited the Pharmavite facility in the city of Opelika last week for a tour. CRN’s Rend Al-Mondhiry joined top Pharmavite executives, including: Christine Burdick-Bell, vice president, Legal & Regulatory Affairs; Carolyn Sabatini, director, Government and Corporate Relations; Paul Bolar, vice president, Regulatory Affairs; and Brett Buatti, vice president, Operations; as well as Kristina Krider, quality manager and Lance Buchanan, director, Plant Operations at the Opelika facility.

The group provided General Strange and Mr. Lewis background on the dietary supplement industry and Pharmavite itself, with a focus on good manufacturing practices (GMPs), GMP compliance and safety aspects of the laws and regulations. In addition, they witnessed the production process from the raw material to finished product stages.

CRN encourages its member companies to meet with their elected officials and invite them to their facilities. CRN can help its members organize these visits, which position the responsible dietary supplement industry positively by spotlighting the popularity, benefits, quality and safety of dietary supplement and functional food products and the industry’s role in strong economies.
