Education campaign helps retailers better understand probiotics intricacies
With the probiotics retailer education campaign, “What’s Inside is Alive,” CRN has “developed materials that will help retailers better curate their product offerings and then better present the category to their customers,” said CRN’s Andrea Wong, Ph.D., in a recent interview with Chain Drug Review.
Why it matters: Dr. Wong emphasized that because probiotics are live organisms, these products require unique labeling, storage, and handling.
A one-stop shop: The initiative offers helpful resources for both retail buyers and consumers. Materials tailored to each audience discuss how probiotics are different from other dietary supplements, what to look for on the label, and the wide range of health benefits that these products offer.
