2021 Nutrition Symposium

Event Start Date
Apr 21, 2021

CRN is proud to support nutrition science education as a sponsor of the 2021 Nutrition Symposium—an important event for sharing ideas across disciplines and with the community. Started in 1994 by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Division of Nutritional Sciences (DNS) Graduate Student Association, the symposium offers students within DNS and related disciplines on campus an opportunity to present their nutrition research. This symposium provides a first glance at exciting research in areas  including metabolic regulation, cancer, gastrointestinal physiology, immunology,  physical activity, public health, and bioactive compounds.

Catherine J. Field, Ph.D., RD, of the University of Alberta will provide the keynote presentation, “Improving immune development in the infant by altering the content of docosahexaenoic acid and form of choline in the maternal diet.” In addition, a mini-symposium on topics in personalized nutrition will feature members of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign faculty, including Dr. Zeynep Madak-Erdogan, Dr. Manabu Nakamura, Dr. Margarita Teran-Garcia, and Dr. Yuan-Xiang Pan.
