TV Network Health Journalist Dr. Jennifer Ashton to Speak at the Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 13, 2013 —The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) today announced that leading women’s health expert, ABC News’ senior medical contributor, and author, Jennifer Ashton, M.D., will speak to conference attendees during the popular “Breakfast With…” session on Saturday, Sept. 21, at The Conference: CRN’s Annual Symposium for the Dietary Supplement Industry, in Park City, Utah.

A board-certified OBGYN, Dr. Ashton has regularly contributed to a number of shows including The Dr. Oz Show, The Early Show and The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Previously, Dr. Ashton worked as the Medical Correspondent for CBS News Network, The Fox News Channel and was co-host for the ABC daytime show, The Revolution.

“We’re very excited to have Dr. Ashton joining us for our breakfast session,” said Judy Blatman, senior vice president, communications, CRN. “We look forward to hearing from her on how the media selects, interprets and covers medical health news, as well as her insights on what women expect from their doctors when it comes to health and family.”

Dr. Ashton has covered many major health and medical stories. She reported from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, after the devastating 2010 earthquake, where she was the network's primary medical correspondent on location, and contributed numerous reports on the 2009 global outbreak of H1N1. Dr. Ashton is the author of the award-winning book "The Body Scoop for Girls" and "Your Body Beautiful."

The Conference takes place Sept. 18–21, immediately following The Workshop: CRN’s Day of Science, Sept. 18. There are four flexible registration options available for the events and a choice between three hotels. The Montage Deer Valley is the event host hotel where the sessions will take place and the Stein Eriksen Lodge and The Chateaux are located 10 minutes away with regular shuttles available. Registrants should book early, as space is very limited.
