Although cannabidiol—one of the cannabinoids identified in hemp plants—is non-psychoactive, there's no denying the "buzz" around CBD in the natural products industry.
The CBD market is projected to grow to $2.1 billion by 2020*.
But...is this exuberance premature?
What about CBD's legal status?
And the supporting science?
The session, For Adults Only: What You Need to Know about CBD, taking place Friday morning on the conference agenda, will focus on realistic, objective and practical perspectives, calling attention to the potential legal impediments to lawful marketing of various “full spectrum hemp” and CBD, as well as identifying possible pathways forward to remove these obstacles.
In addition, the session will explore the scientific evidence surrounding CBD, including a look at its safety profile, research suggesting health benefits and its limitations—and how the scientific findings might translate into legitimate claims for dietary supplements.
