Washington, D.C., March 29, 2016—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, today announced that Richard Cleland,assistant director, Division of Advertising Practices, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will speak at its upcoming conference, The Regulatory Summit, on Thursday, May 5, at the Hyatt Regency, Bethesda, Maryland. Mr. Cleland will discuss the commission’s current thinking on native advertising and social media.
“Native advertising and social media present new marketing opportunities, but also new regulatory challenges,” said Rend Al-Mondhiry, Esq., associate general counsel, CRN. “Mr. Cleland’s insights will provide an enhanced understanding of the guidelines and updates FTC made available to industry in 2015.”
