Survey reveals consumers care about branded ingredients
New this year, CRN’s Consumer Survey on Dietary Supplements explored consumer attitudes about branded ingredients versus their generic counterparts.
“Working with a branded ingredient can really help manufacturers with so many different aspects, including quality, transparency, and marketing support,” said Elyse Lovett of CRN member company Nutrition21.
What consumers are saying: Among supplement users, 57% report they believe branded ingredients work better than generic ones. Seven in 10 supplement users (70%) say they have more confidence in using branded ingredients.
Money talks: Survey results reveal that not only do consumers trust branded ingredients, they’re also willing to pay more for them (63%). The majority of supplement users (63%) agree that these products can cost more because they are more effective and higher quality than their generic counterparts.
