“I'm honored to be named a finalist for the Annette Dickinson Trailblazer Award. It's a privilege to be recognized among such bold and visionary leaders at the CRN who are driving meaningful change in our industry through scientific innovation, product integrity, and health advocacy.”

BIO: Mike Finamore is the CEO of Gemini Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a leading global contract development manufacturing organization (CDMO) of dietary supplements and OTC pharmaceuticals, specializing in science-backed and green product initiatives. Additionally, Mike is the President of the Governance Board of the GRMA (Global Retailer & Manufacturer Alliance), the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee of NSF/ANSI 455-4 for OTC products, and a member of the New York State Bar Association Food and Drug Law Committee.

Mike previously served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN). He remains a frequent expert contributor, speaker, and panelist for key industry publications and forums.

FUN FACTS:

  • What is your favorite supplement? Vitamin D is inexpensive and accessible to everyone, and research is demonstrating its importance to our everyday health and well-being.

  • What is your ‘happy place’? On a beach with family/great book, or at Yankee Stadium on a warm summer night.

  • What is your special talent that may surprise people? An unexpectedly sharp eye for the strategy and momentum shifts in middle-school girls' volleyball, refined through supporting my twin daughters.

NOMINATION SUBMISSION: Mike Finamore has been the CEO of Gemini Pharmaceuticals for over 20 years.  He led the way 10 years ago in CDMO transparency thru the creation of Quality Partnerships with Brand Owners. This made available all production quality information to the Brand Owner at a time when others kept the documentation a secret.

For the past 8 years he has been the President of GRMA. Thru his leadership there are now National Standards that provide for uniform cGMP inspection of dietary supplement, cosmetic and OTC manufacturers. The dietary supplement standard (455-2) has now been benchmarked against GFSI requirements and deemed acceptable.

Mike is a strong advocate for the mission of CRN. He has served on the CRN Board of Directors as well as the Executive Committee. Mike has become a thought leader for the industry through more than 20 published papers on a wide range of topics from CMDO Transparency to the impact of Covid on the supplement business to tariff impacts on the industry.

He has worked tirelessly to improve the image of the industry. Mike’s efforts resulted in Gemini being chosen as the Trust Transparency Center first ever recipient of their Traditional Contract Manufacturers Award. Before the award, the Trust Transparency Center evaluated all of the contract manufacturers in the U.S. based on an extensive list of criteria surrounding capabilities and format, certifications, audit history, industry engagement, interviews with industry experts, etc. Mike Finamore exemplifies what this award is all about.
