Washington, D.C.— The CRN Foundation, the educational arm of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), will once again highlight the importance of prenatal nutrition at the 2026 American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting, taking place May 1–3 in Washington, D.C.
For the third year, the Foundation will host its Prenatal Nutrition Center at booth 1133 in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, where clinicians can access science-based resources on how nutritional supplementation can help address common nutrient gaps among pregnant and lactating women.
In addition, the CRN Foundation will present an educational industry workshop session titled “Optimizing Prenatal Nutrition and Supplementation: Evidence-Informed Strategies in Clinical Practice” on Saturday, May 2, from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. in Room 206.
“Many pregnant women in the U.S. do not meet their increased nutritional needs through diet alone,” said Andrea Wong, Ph.D., Senior Vice President and Chief Science Officer, CRN. “Our goal is to provide healthcare professionals with the latest evidence on how prenatal supplements can help close nutrient gaps and support healthier outcomes for both mothers and babies.”
This year’s session will feature:
- Danielle Christifano, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Dietetics and Nutrition, University of Kansas Medical Center
- Leslie Stone, M.D., ABFM, FM/OB Fellow, IFM-CP, GrowBaby Health
The speakers will explore current nutrient intake patterns, highlight key gaps in prenatal and postnatal nutrition, and examine how supplementation can help address these shortfalls. The session will cover well-established nutrients—including folic acid, iron, calcium, iodine, and vitamin D—as well as nutrients with emerging evidence in pregnancy, such as choline, DHA omega-3s, lutein, and zeaxanthin.
“Nutrition science continues to evolve, and it’s essential that OB/GYNs and other healthcare providers have access to the most current research,” added Dr. Wong. “Through this session and our on-site resources, we aim to equip clinicians with practical, evidence-informed strategies they can apply in everyday practice.”
The CRN Foundation’s Prenatal Nutrition Center is made possible with support from leading CRN member companies and participating brands committed to advancing maternal and infant health. Featured participants include Balchem, dsm-firmenich, Kemin Industries, OmniActive Health Technologies, Pharmavite, Needed, Perelel, and Unilever Wellbeing Collective brands OLLY® and SmartyPants®.
