FDA Deputy Commissioner for Human Foods Kyle Diamantas to Address CRN CONVERGENCE ‘25 Attendees

Popular Breakfast Session to Feature Fireside Chat with CRN President & CEO Steve Mister

SEPTEMBER 9, 2025

WASHINGTON – The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, today announced that FDA Deputy Commissioner for Human Foods Kyle Diamantas will speak at its CONVERGENCE ‘25 event, taking place Oct. 8–10 at the Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis. Details are available at www.crnusa.org/2025events.

Deputy Commissioner Diamantas leads the agency’s Human Foods Program, overseeing all FDA nutrition and food safety activities—including those for dietary supplements. As FDA’s top food executive, he sets the strategic direction and operations for food policy in the U.S., while serving as a critical liaison between the agency, Department of Health and Human Services, and The White House. He also represents the agency on food activities and matters in dealings with foreign governments and international organizations.

“Sitting down with Deputy Commissioner Diamantas for a candid, on-the-record conversation is a timely opportunity for our industry,” said CRN President & CEO Steve Mister. “Attendees can expect a substantive discussion about FDA’s program priorities and what they mean for supplement companies—from new dietary ingredient notifications and labeling to enforcement expectations and transparency.”

The fireside chat with Deputy Commissioner Diamantas, part of the popular “Breakfast With…” session taking place the morning of Friday, Oct. 10, will explore the Human Foods Program’s current focus areas and broader policy context shaping the supplement marketplace—topics of high interest to industry leaders navigating evolving state actions on ingredients, renewed attention to GRAS processes, and the ongoing implementation of FDA’s reorganization.

Deputy Commissioner Diamantas is part of a top-notch slate of speakers providing informative insights and perspectives on the most transformative issues the dietary supplement and functional food industry faces. Keynote speakers include Jim VandeHei, co-founder of Axios and POLITICO, and Daniel Kraft, M.D., physician-scientist and founder of NextMed Health, who will address some of the most thought-provoking topics of the day—navigating the news cycle and the intersection of healthcare and technology.

Other sessions include a deep dive into consumer attitudes and purchasing behavior with data from Circana; a panel of third-party evaluators—Canomiks, ConsumerLab, Labdoor, and SuppCo—on how ratings shape consumer trust; a tariffs-and-trade session translating policy shifts into market realities; a panel of regulatory experts on navigating today’s dynamic landscapes; “The View from the Corner Office” CEO panel with industry leaders sharing what keeps them up at night and what they’re doing about it; and more.
