Multivitamins and memory study significant, says CRN

MAY 25, 2023—CRN the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, today responded to the latest results from the COcoa Supplement and Multivitamin Outcomes Study (COSMOS). New findings from an ancillary study known as COSMOS-Web—conducted by Columbia University, in collaboration with Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School)—were published today in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. 

CRN Challenges FDA Course on Drug Preclusion

MAY 10, 2023—CRN today submitted a Citizen Petition to the FDA calling for the agency to reconsider its interpretation of the Drug Preclusion Clause, which, the trade association contends, has been, and will likely continue to be, misapplied to dietary supplement ingredients the agency has previously acknowledged as lawfully marketed, which threatens future innovation in the supplement marketplace. 

CRN Welcomes Eleven New Member Companies

MAY 4, 2023—CRN today announced announced the addition of 11 new companies to its membership. Companies joining as voting members include Alternative Laboratories, LLC; BioHarvest Sciences, Inc.; Doctor’s Best and Vit-Best Nutrition; Innobio USA, Inc., Megalabs USA; and Nuritas. Survey Confirms an Overwhelming Majority of Americans Want the Flexibility to Use Pre-Tax Dollars to Purchase Nutritional Supplements for Better Health

APRIL 18, 2023, Washington, D.C. —Today, the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) announced the findings of a jointly-commissioned Ipsos survey, which explored people’s understanding of how their flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs) are used and how they should work, specifically regarding the purchase of dietary supplements.
