APRIL 18, 2023, Washington, D.C. —Today, the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) announced the findings of a jointly-commissioned Ipsos survey, which explored people’s understanding of how their flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs) are used and how they should work, specifically regarding the purchase of dietary supplements.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, today announced longtime healthcare communications strategist Jeff Ventura has joined the organization as the vice president of communications, reporting to CRN President & CEO Steve Mister.

The CRN Foundation’s recent Health Care Cost Savings report, Supplement to Savings (“S2S”), identified up to $106.6 million in net savings if lutein and zeaxanthin are used by the at-risk target populations most susceptible to AMD.

CRN today submitted comments to FDA on its proposed rule updating the “healthy” implied nutrient content claim. CRN’s comments to FDA emphasized the value of including dietary supplements and functional foods in the final rule and urged the agency to reconsider its “food groups-only” approach.
